| In 1966, I (Mike Snider?) spoke by e-mail with a relatively famous Pence researcher, who claimed that this Peter Pence was not the famous Indian fighter and Revolutionary War guide. He said that many people were trying to claim the famous Peter Pence as an ancestor who were not really descended from him. He said that he had no record of the famous Peter Pence having a daughter named Elizabeth.
From Mike Snider - Many years ago I spoke with a fairly famous Pence researcher and he said that Peter & Mary Pence did not have a daughter and had only and questioned where I had gotten the information that they were Elizabeth's parents. Anyway, he was certain very certain that our information was wrong and since I did not have any documentation to prove otherwise I left it in doubt. Since then, I have come across some info that leads me to believe that Elizabeth's last name was Bentz rather than Pence. But again I do not have documentation to prove that either. I (CHH) that in Fay's work or comments she expressed doubt about the spelling of Elizabeth's name. Children of Johann Schneider/Snider and Elizabeth Pense are: + 2 i.
