Generation No. 1 1. FREDERICK1 LORING was born 1765 in France, and died 1856 in Los Angeles, California. He married (1) UNKNOWN. He married (2) MARY "POLLY" HAYDEN March 24, 1806 in Mason County, Kentucky, daughter of NOAH HAYDEN. She died June 28, 1833 in Palmyra, Marion County, Missouri. Notes for FREDERICK LORING: He came to the United States with LaFayette in 1781. He was a bugler in the service under the command of Count de Grasse at the Battle of Yorktown, the last battle of the Revolutionary War. After the war he settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also took part in the War of 1812 under Major Clarkson and died in Los Angeles, California at the age of 91. This name appears in an ancient volume "History of Kentucky" by Butler, as a member of a Kentucky company that fought at the River Raisin. Notes for MARY "POLLY" HAYDEN: She died from cholera. "JACK"2 LORING (FREDERICK1) was born January 28, 1807 in Paris, Kentucky, and died February 12, 1857 in Loring Ranch, Cook County, Texas (near Rosston, Texas). He married (1) ELIZABETH LEWIS February 12, 1828 in Palmyra, Marion County, Missouri. She died June 28, 1833 in Palmyra, Marion County, Missouri. He married (2) MARTHA A. LANDERS Bef. 1840 in Arkansas. She was born 1816 in Arkansas. Notes for JOHN N. "JACK" LORING: John N. Loring was killed accidently with an axe by a Loring slave chopping wood. The slave was chopping wood and John N. (who was drunk) thought he should be doing this faster. He got the whip and started to hit the slave. The whip caught the slave's arm and pulled the axe out of his hand. It flew backwards and landed in John N.'s skull killing him. More About JOHN N.
